POSITION AND EDUCATION
2001 : Senior scientist (CR1), Plantes et Systèmes de culture Horticoles, INRA Avignon
1998-2001 : Researcher (CR2), Plantes et Systèmes de culture Horticoles, INRA Avignon
1998 : PhD thesis in Agronomical Sciences – Modelling water uptake by root architecture under non-uniform water availabilities. Study on Peach (Prunus persica L. Batsch) in orchard.
MAIN RESEARCH INTERESTS
I am currently working on the acquisition and transfer of resources within a complex plant architecture. Resource transfer through the architecture is modeled, linking water and carbohydrate flows through the xylem and phloem network. These endogenous availabilities result from the transfer of resources within the architecture, with the architecture (topology, geometry, and transfer properties) linking organs acting as sources and sinks. Processes such as resource acquisition (water and mineral uptake, carbon assimilation) and organ growth depend on exogenous availability (soil water content, radiation...) and local endogenous availability (water potential, carbohydrate concentration...). Fruit growth and quality are particularly studied in response to various environmental conditions (temperature, radiation, water deficit) and agricultural practices (irrigation, thinning, pruning) to better understand the link between resource availability and organ growth and composition.
