EXPE DEPHY Ecophyto EcoPêche

EXPE DEPHY Ecophyto EcoPêche

EXPE DEPHY Ecophyto EcoPêche (2013 - 2018): Design and multi-site evaluation of peach - nectarine orchards with low pesticides and inputs (coordination: PSH / CTIFL; partners: UERI Gotheron, UE Bordeaux; CTIFL Balandran; regional experimentation sites: SEFRA, SUDEXPE, Sica CENTREX).

EcoPêche project aims at designing, evaluating and transfering the knowledges on innovative peach-nectarine orchard systems that combine a significant reduction in pesticides and inputs, the production of high-quality fruit and technical and economic performance to ensure the sustainability of farms. This project, based on partnership and multi-site approach, aims to develop a generic methodological framework that can be applied to other stone fruit trees. Seven system trials have been set up at different sites: Inrae PSH Avignon, Inrae Gotheron Saint Marcel les Valence, Inrae UE - Domaine de Bourran, Ctifl Balandran, regional experimentation sites: SEFRA Etoiles sur Rhône, SUDEXPE Saint Gilles, Sica CENTREX Torreilles. At each site, a cropping system representative of current practices (the conventional system) is compared with one or more prototypes of low-input systems, and in certain situations with an organic farming system. The results, summarised by site and for all the systems, will be registered into the AGROSYST database.

The EcoPêche 2 project (2019-2023, coord. CTIFL) is continuing the multi-criteria performance assessment of low-input peach-nectarine orchards designed and planted as part of the EcoPêche 1 project. It will also aim to explore the feasibility of new, highly ambitious agro-ecological and technological systems.
